FAQs
What makes the SX Pro dummy different from a standard dummy?

Most dummies use a round or cherry-shaped teat that can push against the tongue and alter its natural resting position over time. The SX Pro dummy is designed not to invade the oral cavity, giving your baby the same sensation they experience in their natural physiological state when not using a dummy at all. Its unique physiological shape supports natural tongue positioning, mirroring the breastfeeding experience for correct mouth, tongue, and jaw alignment, and the thinner, wider neck enables the mouth to remain almost completely closed, better distributing pressure on the gums and teeth. It is endorsed by the Spanish Society of Pediatric Dentistry (SEOP) — making it one of the few dummies on the market with independent clinical backing for oral development

Will using this dummy cause nipple confusion if I'm breastfeeding?

The SX Pro dummy uses the exact same teat shape and feel as the SX Pro bottle nipple, which is intentional. The SX Pro dummy is designed to harmoniously pair with the Bonhomia and Colour Essence SX Pro bottles, ensuring effortless acceptance of both the bottle and dummy. Because the teat shape and sucking mechanics are consistent across the dummy and bottle, babies who are mixed feeding can switch between breast, bottle, and dummy without the jarring adjustment that standard dummies can cause. It is a one-piece silicone design that is medical grade, hypoallergenic, and suitable for sensitive skin

What size dummy does my baby need, and when should I size up?

The SX Pro dummy is available in two sizes: 0–6 months and 6–18 months. Using the correct size matters — a dummy that is too large for your baby's face can cause pressure marks and discomfort, while one that's too small won't sit correctly against the palate. Move to the 6–18 month size when your baby is approaching six months, or earlier if the smaller dummy no longer sits flush against their face. The first size is also suitable for premature babies and those with low birth weight, making it one of the few dummies appropriate from the very earliest days

Will using a dummy affect my baby's teeth?

This is one of the most common concerns parents have, and the short answer is: not if you use the right dummy and stop at the right age. The Spanish Society of Pediatric Dentistry (SEOP) recommends dummy use up to the age of 3, and confirms that although prolonged use can temporarily displace teeth, this situation corrects itself within a few months of stopping use. Parents would only notice the front teeth sticking out slightly if their child used the dummy all day long or for years, and as long as you choose a dummy suited to your child's age and made from soft material, there is no risk of permanent deformation of the dental arch, provided they stop before age three. The SX Pro's physiological shape is specifically designed to minimise pressure on the gums and developing teeth compared to conventional dummy shapes

How do I clean and sterilise the SX Pro dummy?

Clean the dummy by hand with warm soapy water, or place it on the top rack of the dishwasher. Do not use any disinfectants containing alcohol, as these can degrade the silicone. To sterilise, fully submerge the dummy in boiling water for 5 minutes, or use a steriliser. Allow all parts to cool completely before giving the dummy to your baby. Always sterilise before first use and after any period of non-use. It's important to inspect the dummy carefully before each use especially once your baby has teeth — pulling the teat in different directions and discarding it immediately if you notice any signs of damage, weakness, or discolouration. Never leave a dummy in direct sunlight or near a heat source, as this can degrade the silicone faster
