Stewed Apples and Cinnamon

Stewed Apples and Cinnamon
Feeling a little full from all the festivities? Stewed apples and cinnamon receipe from @nourishedbyjessica. Great for gut health and immunity!

"One of my favourite ways to nourish the digestive system is with simple stewed apples and cinnamon.

Pectin, a type of soluble fibre found in apples, has incredible gut healing and nourishing properties. Pectin is released during the cooking process and can help to maintain and repair the mucosal lining of the intestinal tract. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You’ll need:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3-6 organic apples⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A little water⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A cinnamon stick Cinnamon⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To make: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Core the apples and chop them into small evenly sized pieces.

Put all the ingredients in a covered, heavy- bottomed pan (or into your Babycook for the longest setting) and cook for about 15 minutes- until soft and mushy- blend if desired.

Serve warm or cold, with or without yoghurt or cream
